“Florian Signature Collection” espresso cup and saucer

The new Florian Signature Collection cup and saucer is the result of a collaboration with the historic Venetian manufacturer Geminiano Cozzi, founded in 1765 (a perfect harmony between two entities born of 18th-century Venice, passing on a tradition of style and elegance).
Available in a limited edition and made in Fine Bone China, the finest and most sought-after type of porcelain, a precious material chosen for its extraordinary translucency and durability, this cup and saucer is entirely produced in Italy with hand-applied decal decorations: any slight imperfections and variations between the products are a testament to the authenticity of the craftsmanship.

The coffee cup and saucer best embody the identity of Caffè Florian: the history of coffee, as a beverage, is intertwined and inseparable from that of this historic establishment. Today, as in the past, Caffè Florian upholds its original vocation and the drive that led Floriano Francesconi to open what was initially one of Venice’s many botteghe da caffè; now, one of the city’s most iconic symbols.

Each coffee cup and saucer is enclosed in an elegant, personalized Florian box with ribbon and a catalogue.

The Senate Room
As the first decorative motif for the new limited-edition collection, one of the friezes in the Senate Room was chosen, to celebrate Caffè Florian’s historic connection with all forms of art.
In 1893, the then mayor of Venice, Riccardo Selvatico, and a circle of intellectual friends, who were in the habit of meeting in the Senate Room, conceived the idea of organizing an International Art Exhibition, which later became world-famous as The Venice Biennale. Following in these footsteps, for over forty years Florian has been organizing high-profile cultural events in the field of contemporary art, hosting internationally renowned artists.
