“Coffee” can be a lot of things: a grain, a drink but also a place where you can buy or drink it.
Before becoming a commonly used drink, coffee was a legend coming from the East: when it arrived from Turkey in the 16th century, it spread into the lagoon and Venice made a wide use of it. Soon, several “botteghe da caffè” (coffee houses) were opened all over the city, from the largest squares to the narrowest “calli” (streets), making Venice the center of the international coffee trade in the following three centuries.

Caffè Florian, opened since 1720, serves its customers with a blend of coffee created exclusively for the brand called “Venezia 1720”: extra finest 100% Arabica coffee quality coming from Brazil and Central America.
The choice of a 100% Arabic blend depends on the superior quality compared to the robusta qaulity but also, and above all, for the taste: more delicate, less bitter, with a more or less marked acidity and with intense aromatic sensations. Furthermore, the Arabic quality contains less caffeine, about half compared to robusta. This is quite a good piece of news for all for coffee lovers, who can drink more Espressos during the day.
Coffee beans are stored in a package with a valve and inert gas to ensure more freshness and richness in the cup.
