The work created by Fausto Gilberti for the 8th edition of “Temporanea: the possible realities of the Caffè Florian” is reproduced in the canvas shopper sold with the catalogue.

It represents dozens, hundreds of people in black and white lined up, one next to the other, almost in parade. His characters have become a stample in his work: females and males, adults and children, are distinguished solely by their height or for a black triangle which become skirts..

Do they recall the “Fourth Estate”?
Or any political messages of protest or social meeting among people?
Maybe women who march demanding equal rights?
Or simply a deep bond with music he loves, and with the “Beautiful People” of Marilyn Manson?
Before the non-answers, there is only the certainty of movement, the knowledge of having created a new reality, if only for their own eyes, and certainly not for those of the spectator.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Fausto Gilberti is a painter, draftsman and author of children’s books. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and began exhibiting his work in the late 1990s.
His creations are figures reduced to a minimum, stylized characters with large and wild eyes that stand out on white sheets in which the setting is almost always undefined.
Winner of several awards, he has about a hundred solo and group exhibitions to his credit, both in Italy and abroad.
In recent years he has published numerous illustrated books.
He lives in Brescia where he works day and night drawing on a table that was used to make pork salami.
